Per our Bylaws, Membership Dues Categories include the following:
(a) Regular Faculty
(b) Students
(c) Faculty and Students based at African Institutions (who will be granted membership in the Group free of charge.
From time to time, the Steering Committee will review the financial status of the Group and set the dues levels for each category of membership accordingly.
Our current dues levels for each category are as follows:
Africa-based Scholars & Students – Free
Graduate Students Based Elsewhere – $20
Faculty Based Elsewhere – $40
To pay your dues, login to the African Studies Association portal, click on “Coordinate Organizations” in the left-hand menu, and then scroll down until you see “Islam in African Studies Group.” Select your membership category, and then scroll down to click “Add to Cart.” When you are finished adding memberships to your cart, click on the icon of a shopping cart in the upper right of the screen, and you will be taken to a new page where you can fill in your payment information.
